'Wind bussiness'

The author of the article Jacek Czarnecki informs, that neat Darłowo the most powerful wind power station is being built and will have 20 mega watts of power. By the end of the decade there will be a few thousand modern windmills working in our country We are becoming part of a world trend.

The global economy of wind energy is developing as fast as the cellular phone sector and faster then the PC sector. Until 2020 it will be worth 80 mld USD. Since the beginning of the 90 the power of wind power stations has acceded by a few hundred times.

Also in Poland in the year 2002 because of favorable credit systems and the new law renewable energy (wind and water power stations, biomass potholes ) shall become a very lucrative business. Only last year the "Ekofundusz" ecofund donated 70 mln PLN to this sector and the- ministry of environment gave 50 mln PLN of low interest loans.

The new law supports building windmills. Energy stations are obliged to buy energy from renewable sources under the threat of financial sanctions. The ministry of Economy obliges that in 2001 each energy company buys from these sources 2,4 % of all distributed energy. By 2010 this amount shall rise to 7.5% .
